About Us
WHY WE STARTED THIS MOVEMENT
The old ways aren't old-fashioned. They're foundational. We started National Homesteader's Day to spark a revival of lost skills, self-reliance, and community- one household at a time.
SKILLS WERE LOST
Generations of practical knowledge have been left behind.
DEPENDENCE GREW
We became dependent on systems that weren't built to last.
FAMILIES SUFFERED
Disconnection, overwhelm, and helplessness took root.
BUT WE BELIEVE
It's not too late. We can reclaim what was lost and build it better.
TOGETHER WE RISE
This is bigger than one family. It's a national revival.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Today, we’re just a mother and daughter learning right alongside everyone else—believing deeply in hard work, faith, community, and the value of practical life skills.
Preppin Mama™ began as a way to help our own family reconnect with slower living, real food, and the kind of knowledge that used to be passed hand to hand. But along the way, we realized something important: we weren’t the only ones longing for it.
Across the country, people are searching for a way back to connection, purpose, and self-reliance.
National Homesteaders Day was created to bring people together around that shared desire—to reclaim what was lost, learn from one another, and rebuild strong homes and communities one skill at a time.
THIS IS THE HEART OF OUR MOVEMENT
Watch the hands. Hear the stories. Feel the heartbeat of a revival.
